We have been retained to conduct an executive search for a very unique Chief Technology Officer position. Our client sold a company that he co-founded for over a billion dollars. Currently, he is developing a new programing language. He has put $5m of his own money into this company and is planning on putting $5m more into it. He has it set up as a non-profit, as he plans on "giving away" the technology. This is his passion project!
He retained us to find someone to help him design this new language and ideally manage the entire dev process. He is hoping to find a CTO who can do both, but would consider hiring two people. One person to help him design this new language and the other to build and lead the team. They have several open positions. This new person will be working very closely with our client, taking over about 90% of what he has been doing. We are looking for someone that knows how to design a language not just program one!

COMPENSATION: Client is willing and able to put together the right package for the right person. They want a Rockstar! Client would like to know what you want to make and what is important to you. Comp package will include base, bonus and full benefits package including health, life, dental, etc. Client wants to hire someone who is motivated and confident in their ability to be successful in this role.
Must know at least 3 programming languages and C++ should be one of them.
Must understand compiler design and parsing.
Must be able to look at ANY language and know how it was created – someone who knows everything that is possible across the board. This is THE most important aspect of the role that makes it so challenging.
Must have proof that they can program large complex systems; 4 years of experience or more; and wrote a system that had at least 100,000 lines of code.
Must be someone who understands everything there is to know about programming languages. Need someone who has read the manual and knows all about different programming languages; and probably self-taught and started when they were really young.
Must be someone who is hungry for knowledge in Compiler design, language parsing and understands the wide variety of concepts across different programming languages.
Prefer candidates that have been published; or at least have excellent writing skills.
