ServiceTitan is seeking a cutting-edge Chief Technology Officer who will evangelize and transform the architecture and technology of ServiceTitan, enabling the company to reach its next phase of growth. Ultimately, this executive will help us realize our vision of becoming the operating system for the Trades, through technical innovation and building scalable, intelligent decisioning systems.
The CTO will be the most senior technical leader across the organization and will establish the overall technical vision and strategy for ServiceTitan. Their leadership will enhance the overall engineering culture within ServiceTitan and define the tools, technologies and processes used to ensure Engineering excellence.
Executive leadership experience: 15+ years of technology leadership experience within high growth, global engineering oriented SaaS companies. A supportive leader and problem solver who indexes on simplicity.
Technical skills: 10+ years of strong technical and engineering skills including roots as a hands-on engineer.
Experience with modern architecture, cloud technologies including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
Familiarity with modern programming languages such as C#, Java, GoLang, Scala or Python.
Agile driven product development experience.
Understanding and experience building highly scalable, distributed systems that are fault tolerant, sustainable, secure, and performant.
Transformation experience: Technical knowledge in scalable distributed systems; proven track record of implementing new systems and products in SaaS settings. Ideally has led the transformation from monolithic to microservices.
Strategic capabilities: Strategic planning (building roadmaps, difficult tradeoffs, decision frameworks) to achieve business goals aligned to ServiceTitan’s mission and current growth stage. Has a mature outlook on risk.
Ability to assess and attract top talent: Organizational design, capacity planning, recruiting, and ideally the ability to scale teams to a 400+ person organization.
Security experience: Experience building technology for secure environments that contain sensitive information.
Communication skills: Deep technical understanding and ability to articulate, discuss and present technical concepts, schedule trade-offs and opportunistic direction with technical employees.
Education: A technical/engineering undergraduate degree is required; MS in Computer Science or other advanced technical degree preferred.
